Carrie Gets All-Breed Best-In-Show (BIS) at Peninsula Dog Fanciers Show

Bremerton, WA (April, 2008) -- Am. Can. Ch. McVan's Fire Starter "Carrie" garnered all breed Best in Show honors at Peninsula Dog Fanciers. The breed and Best in Show judge was George J. Heitzman. Terrier Group Judge was Edd Bivin. Carrie defeated 1,185 dogs. This is Carrie's first all breed Best in Show. She is the eighth homebred McVan Scottish Terrier to earn an all breed BIS.

Carrie was Best of Winner's at the 2007 Scottish Terrier Club of America rotating specialty and Best of Winner's at the 2007 Canadian Scottish Terrier Club rotating specialty. The year before, she won Best in Sweepstakes honors at the Canadian national specialty and took RWB to her mother. Carrie is out of Am. Can. Ch. McVan's Light My Fire X Am. Can. Ch. Beameups McVan's Gold Digger.

We are mighty proud of Carrie and the fire she has set in the show ring.


SACRAMENTO, CA (April, 2008) - Puppy Dog McVan's E Equals MCsquared "Einstein" started off in the show ring. Einstein at the young age of 10 months was named winner's dog and the next day BOWs at the Northern California Terrier Association specialty. Einstein also earned a Group 4 in the puppy group. At the Sacramento Kennel club shows, Einstein earned a RWD and on to another major on Sunday. He was shown by Travis Luijten.

Einstein currently has 14 points including the three majors towards his US championship. In June, he will join his owner Dr. Teerana Bhongmakapat in Bangkok, Thailand. Einstein is out of a repeat breeding between Am. Can. Ch. McVan's Light My Fire X Am. Can. Ch. Beameups McVan's Gold Digger. Einstein's sister McVan's Lights, Camera, Action was RWB at the Sunday show in Sacramento (the only day she was shown). She is owned by Sally Johnson.

Watch for the other kids from this litter to appear this spring and summer.

WOODINVILLE, WA (December 31, 2007). McVan Scottish Terriers salutes its new champions in 2007:

  • Am. Can. Ch. McVan's Fire Starter "Carrie" got both titles by going BOWs at the US and Canadian National Specialties
  • Ch. McVan's Fire in the Sky "KiChi" owned by Joanne Young
  • Am. Can. Ch. McVan's Wildfire at Trotters owned by Janis Trotzuk finished her US championship
  • Can. Ch. McVan's Some Kind of Wonderful "Brenda" owned by Greg and Terry Brown
  • Ch. Bookmaker De Champernoune "Benny" owned by Vandra Huber and Michael Krolewski and bred by Katrina Round in France.

  • WOODINVILLE, WA (December 18, 2007). We are proud to announce the birth of three new puppies out of National BOB Winner Ch. Chyscot's First Knight "Lance" and National BOWS Winner Am. Can. Ch. McVan's Firestarter "Carrie".

    Puppies were born in the wee hours of December 18, 2007. Mom and her two boys (one wheaten and one black) and daughter (black) are doing well. In the first week, the puppies doubled their weight from 230 grams to about 480 grams.

    CLEVELAND, OH (December 14, 2007). At the Medina Kennel Club Show, new Ch. McVan's Fire in the Sky "KiChi" earned a 3 point major to finish her championship under breeder-judge Keith Bates. KiChi is owned by Joanne Young of Canton, OH. KiChi is the fifth out of five offsprings in a litter by BISS Am. Can. Ch. McVan's Light My Fire and Am. Can. Ch. Beameup's McVan's Gold Digger "Anna Nicole" to finish her championship.


    CLEVELAND, OH (December 14, 2007). Ch. McVan's Fire in the Sky "KiChi" owned by Joanne Young finished her American championship with a 3 point major at the Medina Kennel Club show. KiChi is the fifth of five offsprings in a litter by Ch. McVan's Light My Fire "Jimmy" and Ch. Beameups McVan's Gold Digger "Anna Nicole" to finish her championship.


    TOKYO, JP (December 2, 2007). Am. Ch. McVan's Eternal Flame earned her Japanese title by going Best Scottish Terrier Queen at the Japanese Kennel Club's J FCI Tokyo Inter Dog Show. Flame, a lovely wheaten also earned 2nd in group in a very strong terrier competition. Flame is owned by Miss Kyoko Kubota.


    MONROE, WA (November, 18, 2007). BISS Am. Can. Ch. McVan's Light My Fire "Jimmy" garnered a Group 2 at the Whidbey Island Kennel Club show under Wyoma Clouss. The day before Jimmy earned a Group 4 under Beverly Lehnig.


    ALBANY, OR (November (10, 2007). BISS Am. Can. Ch. McVan's Light My Fire "Jimmy" came out of retirement an earned a Group 1 at the Willamette Valley Kennel Club show. Jimmy went to the shows while his daughter Am. Can. Ch. McVan's Firestarter "Carrie" took a pregnancy leave of absence. Jimmy barked out that it felt mighty fine to be back in the ring again to carry on the McVan tradition and it was great fun beating a top ranking smooth fox terrier to win the group. The Judge was Paul Thomann. Jimmy was handled by Travis Liutjen.
