Big Bopper makes music in Baltimore
At less than 18 months of age, new Ch. McVan's Big Bopper at Beameups walks off with Best in Special Show honors at the 2016 STCA rotating specialty held in Baltimore, WA. We wish to thank breeder judge Miss Elizabeth Jane Bradley for recognizing the qualities of Ch. McVan’s Big Bopper at Beameups (aka. “Bopper”). Bopper is a third generation of National Specialty Winners and represents the best in line breeding, combining McVan, Beameups and Chyscott (Sire: Ch Chyscott's Behind The Mask - Dam: BIS BISS Am. GCH Can. McVan's Be Bop Baby). He finished his championship with four specialty wins including BOWs, Washington State Scottish Terrier Club under Judge Clay Coady at 6 months and RWD the next day at the 2015 rotating specialty with judge Mr. Mariano Gatica Gomez. He also was BOWs Scottish Terrier Club of Greater Louisville under judge Elaine Whitney. Bopper finished the day before the 2016 Rotating National with a BOWs win under judge Don Evans at the STC of Greater Baltimore Specialty. Bopper also won the STCA’s 2015 Rotating Specialty National Sweepstakes under Ron McConnell. We are pleased with Bopper’s accomplishments at less than 18 months of age. McVan's Be Bop Boy at Chyscott Goes BOWS at STCA Rotating
McVan's Be Bop Boy at Chyscott earns Best of Winner's at 2016 STCA Rotating Specialty. Blake is the full brother of breed winner Ch. McVan's Big Bopper at Beameups. We are honored to have bred the two of top winners at the roving national specialty. Both boys are out of sire Ch Chyscott's Behind The Mask and GCH McVan's Be Bop Baby.
Blake is owned by our long term friends Larae Shafer & Whitney Shafer & Kristen Simmons of Cheyenne, WY. Blake and Bopper were bred by Vandra Huber & Rebecca Cross.
Robbie Earns Reserve Best in Show
Exciting news from Puerto Rico.
Aulscot's Treasure Island of McVan bred by Allene C. Auld and owned by Vandra Huber and Victor Zamora went Reserve All Breed Best In Show at San Juan International Dog Show under judge Serghei Violinets from Moldova. Robbie is now also Puerto Rico, International, Panamerican, Latin American Champion. He also earned a Group 1 from respected esteemed judge Johan Becerra. We are indeed proud of our young boy.
McVan Scotties Earns STCA Award
For the second year in a row, McVan Scotties owned by Dr. Vandra Huber and Michael Krolewski has been awarded the Breeder's Medallion for breeding the Scottish Terrier Club of America's National Specialty Winner. The award was for BISS BIS winner Ch. McVan's To Russia with Love "Knopa" who won the national speciality in 2013 and 2014. The award was received at the annual Montgomery club dinner.

Bopper does it again! In his third show, he goes Best of Winners at the Scottish Terrier Club of Greater Louisville. The judge was Canadian Breeder Judge Mrs. Elaine Whitney.

Big Bopper Does It Again -- Another Major
McVan's Big Bopper at Beameup "Bopper" earns a third major the third time he was shown. Under judge Elaine Whitney, Bopper went Best of Winners at the Lousiville Scottish Terrier Specialty. Co-breeder Rebecca Cross showed him from the Bred By Exhibitor class. We are very proud of Betsy's son.

McVan's Flash Gordon
In a record two weeks time, McVan's Flash Gordon "Flash" earned his American Title. Flash is out of GCH. Land Rose R. JP All Good Things and GCH. McVan's Northern Lights. Flash is a typey correct sized Scottish Terrier with wonderful layback and neck to back lines. He has a clean head with nice planes and tiny ears. We wish he would grow his beard faster but other than that, we hope he continues his winning ways.
McVan's Big Bopper Goes BISS at National
McVan's Big Bopper at Beameup "Bopper" made his debute at 6 months young by going Best of Winners (BOW) at the Washington State Scottish Terrier Club. The next day at the Scottish Terrier Club of America's (STCA) Rotating Specialty, Bopper went Best in Sweepstakes under breeder judge Ron McConnell. He was also Reserve Winner's Dog for a second major.
We predict great things from Bopper. He has the cobby body of his Best in Show mother "Betsy" combined with a long, clean head similar to Cruft's Best in Show winner Eng. Am. Can. Russ. Ch. McVan's To Russia With Love "Knopa. Knopa is his mother's sister. Watch for Bopper.
Knopa Retires by Going Best in Show at Crufts
We are proud to announce that Am. Can. Russian BIS champion McVan's To Russia With Love (aka Knopa) went Best in Show at Crufts in Birmingham, England. Shown by her friend and handler Rebecca Cross, Knopa beat out more than 22,000 dogs including approximately 100 Scottish Terriers from around the world. The breed judge was Geoff Corish, Terrier Group First was under Mr. Martin Phillips and Best in Show at Crufts was under the distinguished Mr. Ronnie Irving.
Winning Crufts with Knopa is the culmination of three determined women (breeder Vandra Huber of McVan Scotties,Seattle, WA, handler and breeder Rebecca Cross of Beameups,Gettysburg PA, and owner Marina Khenkina, Moscow of pursuing a dream which included mixing up blood lines of Scottish Terriers, sharing dogs with one another purely because we love the breed.
Knopa who was raised by McVanScotties, was given as gift to Marina Khenkina of Russia who wanted something nice to show and breed. In Russia, Knopa went BIS at the important EuroAsia Kennel Club Show. While Knopa was in the limelight, her sister BIS Am. Can. Ch. McVan's Be Bop Baby (Betsy) was shown in the U.S. and achieved America's top honors. She went Best of Breed at Crufts 4 years ago also with Rebecca showing her.
"When Betsy retired, says Vandra, "we asked Marina if we could borrow Knopa back to show in the USA. Marina said sure, why not." Knopa in only a few months of showing rose to the No. 1 rank in the U.S. in 2013 and again in 2014. She has been recognized by the fancy by garnering back to back Best of Breeds at the Scottish Terrier Club of America's National Specialty at Montgomery County. Along the way she earned 8 all breed Best in Shows.
We are grateful and proud of Knopa and know she is resting comfortablity on Marina's bed. And yes, she can get up on the couch. She's earned it.

Knopa Goes BOB At Westminster Dog Show
Intl. GCH McVan's To Russia With Love "Knopa" went Best of Breed at the highly prestigious Westminster Dog Show in New York City. Knopa, who is owned by Marina Khenkina of Moscow, Russia, is the great great grand daughter of Peggy Sue who went Best in Show at Westminster in the 1990s. Knopa was shown by Rebecca Cross, her handler and our friend.
Knopa's Westminster win tops a highly successful career here in the United States. She was No. 1 Scottish Terrier in 2013 and 2014 and a Top 3 terrier in 2014. She has earned 8 Best in Shows. She has won the Scottish Terrier Club of America's National Specialty twice as well as England's most prestigious Crufts.
Knopa will be returning to Russia where she plans to sleep in late on Marina's bed, chase bunnies and romp with other scotties and wire fox terriers.
Knopa Finishes 2014 Year as No. 1 Scottish Terrier
Am. Can. Russ. Ch. McVan's To Russia With Love "Knopa" finished 2014 as the No. 1 Scottish Terrier in Group Points and No. 3 Terrier in the United States. Shown by her friend and handler Rebecca Cross, Knopa went Best of Breed at the Scottish Terrier Club of America's National Special at Montgomery County. This is the second year in the row, she has won the national specialty.
During 2014, Knopa earned the following Awards:
8 All Breed Best in Shows, including
50 Group 1s;
28 Group 2s;
8 Group 3s;
7 Group 5s;
99 Best of Breeds; and
No. 4 Scottish Terrier in Canada (shown only one weekend)!
We are truly blessed to have bred such a wonderful Scottish Terrier. Knopa will retire in the U.S. at Westminster Kennel Club Show. She will then return to her owner, Marina Khenkina of Moscow Russia. She will sleep on the bed, frolic in the summer breeze and stay indoors during the cold Moscow winter. Thank you Marina for lending Knopa back to us so we could show and enjoy her in the U.S. while her sister Betsy had puppies.
New McVan Puppies
McVan Scotties is proud to announcer the birth of two free whelped litters born within a day of each other. Am. Can. Ch. McVan's London Calling "Lindy Lou" had a litter of three scotties (a brindle boy and two black girls) out of Am. Can. Ch. Glenby's Bright Promise. Her older sister BIS Am. Can. GCH. McVan's Be Bop Baby "Betsy" had a litter of three boys out of Chyscott's Behind The Mask "Drake". The left three are Lindy Lou's babies and the right three are Betsy's Boys. As with any litters, there will be pets and show dogs. And not all are spoken for.

Orion Finishes in grand style
McVan's Orion Nebula finished his American championship by going Best of Breed, Best of Winners, and Winner's Dog from the classes over two specials at the Whidbey Island KC show. In the terrier group, he earn a Group 4 under judge Daryl Vice. He also was winner's dog the next day to finish his American championship
At the same shows, his sister McVan's Super Nova was Winner's Bitch. Nova earned a Group 2 in the Bred by Exhibitor competition and a Group 1 in the owner handled group.
Earlier this year, Orion earned an all breed best puppy in show.
Orion and Nova are out of Ch. Land Rose R. JP All Right and BIS Am. Can. GCH. McVan's Northern Lights.
We are thankful that the Whidbey Island Kennel Club continues to hold health testing. Both Orion and Nova got their eyes check and passed the CERF screening. This is the last test they need to complete Scottish Terrier Club of American screen. Both will soon be listed as CHIC certified.
Nova Earns Group 1 Owner Handler and Much More...
McVan's Super Nova at Beameups "Nova" was Best of Opposite Sex and WB at the Whidbey Island Kennel Club Show. She also earned a Group 1 in owner handler competition and a Group 2 in Bred By Exhibitor competition. The next day she also went Winner's Bitch
Lindy Lou Earns Group 3
GCH McVan's London Calling aka Lindy Lou garners a group 3 at the Wenanchee Kennel Club show. Lindy Lou is the little sister of Knopathescottishterrier (see facebook) who is the No. 1 Scottish Terrier in the U.S. and No. 3 terrier in the U.S.
Lindy Lou is shown to this win by our friend Travis Luijten. The judge was Mrs. Jackie Stacey. We are honored to have garnered this win. Lindy Lou is a top 10 Scottish Terrier in the U.S. She won the Canadian Scottish Terrier regional specialty last year and is a multiple winner at U.S. specialties. She went Best in Sweepstakes at the 2013 Washington State Scottish Terrier Specialty and went Best in Specialty Show in 2014.

It was a great Mothers Day for the McVan Clan. Knopa with Rebecca piloting her went Best in Show under Jerry Expert Richard Powell. The group judge was Rodney Herner who fell in love with Knopa last year on Montgomery weekend.

At the Eukanuba National Show, GCH. Am. Russian McVan's To Russia with Love "Knopa" garnered Best of Breed honors under judge Hans Van Den Berg en route to a Terrier Group 3 under expert Clay Coady. During the week preceding the show, Knopa won 4 of 5 Best of Breeds help her cinch the title of No. 1 Scottish Terrier in the U.S.
Knopa who is owned by Marina Khenkina, Moscow, Russia has had a smashing good year. She went Best in Show at Russia's largest dog, Euroasia in the spring. In England, she was Best of Breed at Crufts. She follows in her sister's heels (Gold GCH Am. Can. Intl. Ch. McVan's Be Bop Baby) who won the same show in 2012. This fall, Knopa was Best in Specialty Show at the Scottish Terrier Club of America's National Specialty.
Knopa Goes BISS at National Specialty
Intl. Russian Am. Ch. McVan's to Russia with Love returns to the U.S. and what a return it was. Montgomery weekend, Knopa went Best of Breed at all three shows she was shown at. This included Best in Specialty Show at the Scottish Terrier Club of America's National specialty under breeder judge Barbara Casey. We are honored to have bred this lovely girl. Knopa is owned by Marina Khenkina of Moscow Russia.
Knopa earned at Group 4 at the Devon show. The next weekend she earned a Group 1 to complete her American Kennel Club Grand Championship.
Knopa was gone Best in Show at the largest dog show in Russia, The Euroasia show and she earned Best of Breed at Crufts in 2013. We are very proud of her.

Clean Sweep in Canadian Regional
Calgary, Canada -- McVan's London Calling "Lindy Lou" did herself proud at the 50th Anniversary Regional Specialty of the Canadian Scottish Terrier Club. Under breeder-judge Billie Kellogg Kneale, Lindy Lou went Best of Breed from the classes.
At one year of age, Lindy Lou was Winner's Bitch, Best of Winners and then Best of Breed. What a way to finish her Canadian championship at one year of age.
Earlier in the day, Lindy Lou also was Best in Sweepstakes under breeder-judge Charlie Gann.
McVan's Hey Good Lookin' "Hank" was winners dog to complete his Canadian championship. The day before, McVan's Signed, Sealed and Delivered "Stevie" finished his championship by going Winner's Dog at the Alberta All Terrier Club. The next two days, Stevie was Best of Opposite Sex at both all breed shows. He was piloted to these wins by Julie Hamasaki. Thank you Julie. Both boys are CHIC certified.
Betsy Tops Them All: The Most Specialty Wins in the History of the Breed
BIS Gold GCH McVan's Be Bop Baby "Betsy" has won more Scottish Terrier Specialties than any other scottie in the history of the breed. Betsy earned her 22nd BISS at the Scottish Terrier Club of Chicago under Judge Judy Thrill. Betsy was shown by her co-owner Rebecca Cross. The prior record for specialty wins was held by Ch. Gaelforce Postscript "Peggy Sue" who was also owned by Vandra Huber. Peggy Sue's record has stood for more than 10 years.
Words can not express just how proud we are of our homebred girl. Betsy is also a multiple Best in Show winner, BOB winner at Crufts in England in 2012 and a world champion. In addition to her confirmation titles, Betsy is also CHIC certified to meet the requirements of the Scottish Terrier Club of America. McVan Scotties (aka Vandra L. Huber and Michael Krolewski) are breeders of merit for the American Kennel Club
Teddy Takes Finland by Storm
Teddy "McVan's New Deal" starts his career in Hyvinkää, Finland by going Best of Opposite Sex for his first CC towards his Finnish championship. The judge was Elena Ruskovaara. Teddy is owned and loved by Jaana and Harry Turtiainen. He is sired by Ch. Greatscot Roadshow and BIS Am. Can. Ch. McVan's Northern Lights.

BetsytheScottish Terrier (subscribe to her posts on facebook) earned her 17th specialty Best in Show in Baltimore. The Best in Show was awarded by Barbara Casey. Betsy's sister Knopa New Champion McVan's To Russia With Love earned select honors. We are particularly proud when breeder judges love Betsy. Thank you!
Zoey Scores Big in Agility Competition
Zoey our Hawaian girl went to The Scottish Terrier Club of America's National Specialty at Montgomery County and competed in agility. At Montgomery County agility, obedience and rally trials Zoey who already has points towards her conformation title won six 1st place ribbons, two 2nd places and one 3rd place. She now has these AKC titles: BN, RN, NA, NAJ. She was handled by Allene Auld. What a wonderful team. Zoey follows in the footsteps of her dad, Zachery, who also is doing wonderful in agility.
Our Russian Boy Petie makes US Debue
We are proud to introduce our Russian import Gemma Stonhendge Poetic Justice of McVan (aka Petie). Petie was bred by our friend Mariana Khenkina. His sire is Sansibiliti Spy Who Loved Me, a top winning dog from Russia and our own Russian Ch. McVan's to Russia with Love (aka Knopa).
We are pleased to introduce Petie to the fancy. He has a strong front with clean elbows, deep brisket. His head is long, brick-shaped with small, high set ears. He carries his tail up at alert. He has a strong black coat. We are well pleased with our import and feel he will be useful in our and others breeding programs.
In his first shows in the USA, he earned a five point major, going breed over a special. He currently has seven points (half way to his championship in the USA).

McVan's Firefly of Warscot owned by Nancy Warfield was winner's bitch at the All Terrier Club of Western Washington. Fanny is the out of Ch. Land Rose R. JP All Right "Max" and BIS Ch. McVan's Fire Starter "Carrie." She is the litter mate to our top winning BIS Am. Can. World Ch. McVan's Be Bop Baby, European BIS winner McVan's To Russia with Love and Am. Can. Ch. McVan's Sentimental Journey.

Ginny Goes BOB from the classes
At the All Terrier Club of Western Washington summer show, McVan's High Hopes went BOB from the classes. She defeated three specials and earned a four point major. She needs only two points to finish.
The judge was Ms Kari Hill, a breeder-judge from the Charthill Kennel

New McVan Babies
We are proud to announce the birth of a liter of two female puppies out of BIS Ch. McVan's Firestarter "Carrie" and Ch. Land Rose R Jp All Right "Max." This is a repeat breeding of the litter which produced Betsy and Frankie (both group winners in the US) and Knopa who has won all over Europe.

Frankie and Amy (Age 14) win big
We are proud to announced that Frankie and his new co-owner Miss Amy Judge earned Best Junior title at the Washington State Scottish Terrier Show. This was the first time Amy showed Frankie in juniors competition.
They have consistently been placing in the classes since June.
In the breed ring, Amy has put several group placements on Frankie. They are quite a team.
We believe that it is important to get young people involved with Scottish Terriers so our breed is left in capable hands.
Betsy Earns World Championship
At the world dog show in Austria, GCH McVan's Be Bop Baby "Betsy" earned the title of World Champion. She was selected as the best female by the judge. We are so proud of her and her handler and co-owner Rebecca Cross
Betsy Goes BOB at Crufts
GCh McVan's Be Bop Baby was honored in England at Crufts by going Best of Breed under breeder judge Carol Anaan. Betsy was shown by her co-owner and handler Rebecca Cross. Dorene Cross (Rebecca's mom) was there also.

Betsy BeBops to Back to Back Group 1s

Zoey Earns Two Group Placements
Zoey, our Hawaiian girl, earned two group placements from the classes at the Island shows. She was shown by Adrian Takahashi and is owned by Allene Auld. We are very proud of this team who must do things on their own "Hawaiian style."
Betsy ends 2011 as #2 Scottie All Systems: Brother Frankie Not Far Behind
BIS BISS Ch. McVan's Be Bop Baby "Betsy" ended 2011 as the Number 2 Scottish Terrier in breed and group points. Owned by Vandra Huber and Rebecca Cross, we thank Victor Malzoni for his support throughout the year. We could not have done it without him.

Babies Eat First Meal
Five McVan babies (four boys and one girl) were born January 7, 2012. Three weeks later the kids have their first solid food meal of rice and goats milk. The puppies are out of Ch. Greatscot's Roadshow and BIS Am. Can. Ch. McVan's Northern Lights. The puppies trace back to BIS Ch. Gaelforce Postscript "Peggy Sue" who won the Westminster Dog show in the mid 90s.
Betsy Earns Best in Show in Puerto Rico
Silver Grand Champion McVan's Bee Bop Baby "Betsy" wins her second All Breed Best in Show in Puerto Rico on October 30th. This is Betsy's second All Breed BIS. The judge was Ken Delaney. She was handled by her co-owner Rebecca Cross. It was Rebecca's birthday weekend so it was a nice present for her. Woohoo for Team Betsy!
Frankie and sister Fanny Win Big in Canada
McVan Scotties traveled north to Abbottsford, BC, Canada for the Canadian Scottish Terrier Club specialty, BC Terrier Club and four all breed shows. GCH McVan's Sentimental Journey came home as a Canadian champion winning three Winner's Dog and Best of Winner awards. His sister McVan's Firefly of Warscott "Fanny" won on two days. The duo is shown here with Russian Judge Mrs Elena Yerusalimskaya. Frankie was Winner's Dog and Best of Winners. His sister was Winner's Bitch and Best of Opposite Sex. As shown above their sister Betsy got a Best in Show the same weekend. Two weeks earlier their sister in Russian got 3 Best in Shows! What a litter.

Knopa Earns 3 Best in Shows
BIS Ch. McVan's To Russia With Love earned three Best in Shows this weekend in Estonia. "Knopa" went Best in Show at CAC show in Estonia under breeder judge Dan Ericsson yesterday and today went Best in Show Maria Talvite. At the Terrier Specialty judged by Veli-Peka KUMPUMAKI she also went Best in Show.

Betsy Earns Select Honors at National Specialty
Silver GCH McVan's Be Bop Baby "Betsy" earns select honors in a field of 100 plus Scottish Terriers at Montgomery County Kennel Club. Montgomery is the host to the Scottish Terrier Club of America's National Specialty. The Judge was Mrs. Darle Heck of Canada. Betsy is the #2 Scottish Terrier in the U.S. She is co-own by Dr. Vandra Huber and Rebecca Cross. Rebecca is also Betsy's handler and groomer.
Michael Honored by STCA
Michael Krolewski, co founder of McVan Scotties was part of a team that won the Anstamn Achievement Award for their work regarding the Scottish Terrier Club of America's webpage operations. This is the first time a team has won the award.

Betsy the Scottie earns Silver Grand Champion Status
Grand champion McVan's Be Boop Baby "Betsy" is one of only three Scottish Terriers to have earned the prestigious American Kennel Club's title of Silver Grand Champion. Betsy is the Number 2 Scottish Terrier in the U.S. Betsy is co-owned with her handler Rebecca Cross.

GCH McVan's Sentimental Journey joins his sister in the top 5 Scottish Terriers. He is ranked Number 4 in Group Points including two recent group 1s. Frankie is being shown currently in the Pacific Northwest by Travis and will journey back to Texas for the Fall shows.

Besting the best of scotties, McVan's Be Bop Baby "Betsy" went Best of Winners at Devon, the dog show that is precursor of Montgomery County KC. The judge was breeder-judge Kathy Ferris. Betsy was handled by Rebecca Cross.
Frankie Goes Select at Devon
Still a teenage, Frankie joined his sister Betsy in the winner's circle at Devon. Under breeder-judge Kathy Ferris, Frankie "GCH McVan's Sentimental Journey" got the male select award. Frankie was owner-handled by Vandra.
Lacey Goes BISS at Louisville
GCH McVan's Lightning and Lace Strikes Ballyhoo went Best in Show at the Scottish Terrier Club of Louisville. Owner-handled by Angie Solomoto, the Louisville specialty is one of the largest in the U.S. Judge was Dr. Harry Smith. This win qualified Lacey for her Grand Champion title and ensures she qualifies for the Eukanuba invited show in December.
Anna and Jimmy Baby Girl Born
Anna Nicole and Jimmy are pleased to announce the birth of one black girl. "Am. Can. Ch. Beameup McVan's Gold Digger and Am. Can. Ch. McVan's Light My Fire are both CHIC certified for meeting Scottish Terrier Club of America's health requirements. Jimmy also meets OFA requirements for heart and hips.

Knopa Wins World Junior Title in Denmark
We are poud to announce that McVan's To Russia with Love "Knopa" won
World Junior Title at the World Dog Show in Denmark. Additionally, she won the Danish "ticket" CACB towards her Danish title.

A Group 1 for Frankie Who is Just 1 Year Old
To top off his magical weekend, Ch. McVan's Sentimental Journey "Frankie" earned a Group 1 under Australian Terrier expert Mrs. Dee Hyde. We are honored with this win in a large terrier group. Frankie now has 15 points towards his Grand Championship.
Puppies are so cute.
We are expecting new puppies in the middle of July. As with any litter, there may be show and companion quality kids. We also have a lovely brindle girl of four months available to the right show or companion home.
Frankie Goes Best in Specialty Show
New Champion McVan's Sentimental Journey earns Best in Show honors at the Washington State Scottish Terrier (WSSTC) under breeder judge Bill DeVilleneuve. This was Frankie debute as a special. He was handled by his buddy Travis.
Aurora garners "Select" honors three days in a row!
BIS Ch. McVan's Northern Lights "Aurora" came out to play briefly and earned select awards at the WSSTC, Puyallup and Tacoma Kennel Club Shows. Not bad for a pregnant girl.
Aurora is expecting 4-5 puppies out of Ch. Lucias Dream Summer Lightning "Zachery" around July 20-24. We are expecting wonderful puppies with good temperment, nice bone and of course McVan's happy outgoing personality.

Betsy, the sister of Frankie wasn't to be outdone by her brother at the WSSTC. She danced her way to a Best in Sweepstakes win under breeder judge Robbi Garvin. Thank you Robbi for recognizing Betsy. She's still barking about it to her brother.
Frankie Earns a Group 2
Frankie continued his winning ways by garnering a Group 2 from breeder judge Bill Devilleneuve at the Puyallup cluster. Frankie finished his American championship the week before. We think our yearling boy is something special.

McVan's Dizzy Ms. Lizzy got back to back majors at Great Western, Long Beach, CA to finish her American championship. Lizzy was handled by her owner Dr. Tom Hossfeld to these wins.
Lizzy is out of BIS CH McVan's Stamp of Approval of Jovial -- CH McVan's Down Home Girl. Her lineage traces back to the great BIS Gaelforce Postscript "Peggy Sue" who won the Westminster dog show in 1995.

Zachery Finishes U.S. Championship
Lucia's Dream Summer Lightning 'Zachery" finished his American championship in record time. Our dutch boy finished at year young and was expertly handled by Bergit Kabel. He will now head up north to finish his Canadian championship.
Webster struts off with a new title
"Webster" finished with multiple majors and a Best in Sweepstakes at the Washington State Scottish Terrier Club show under Judge Sonya Neve. Webster is 10th champion offspring of Am. Can. Ch. Beameup McVan's Gold Digger "Anna Nicole" which qualifies her for the registry of merit supreme (ROMX) designation of the Scottish Terrier Club of America. His sire, Am. Can. Ch. McVan's Light My Fire "Jimmy," now has 18 champion kids. Way to go Anna and Jimmy. Webster is the first Scottie champion owned by Ben Hosakul and Ken Kinhorn.
Owner-Handled Group 4 for Ms. Lacey
McVan's Lightning and Lace Strikes Ballyhoo owned by Angie Solomito went BOB from the classes and on to a Group 4 at the Olive Branch, MS Kennel Club. Lacey was owner-handled to this win under breeder judge Gary Doerge.
This was both girl's (Lacey and Angie) first group placement
New Puppies for Annie and Carrie
Puppies, puppies every where. The first week of June saw the birth of two litters of puppies. Anna Nicole and Jimmy had a litter of three scotties. The litter included one exceptional wheaten girl, a smaller black boy and a fiesty but small wheaten boy.
A few days later, her daughter McVan's Fire Starter "Carrie" had a litter for four puppies. There were three beautiful black girls and one wheaten boy, all puppies were of good size with nice coats.
It's now 8 weeks later and the puppies are doing well. They have had their shots, they are eating sold food. Anna is teaching them to be tough scotties and to stand up own their feet. They enjoy their twice daily romps through the hall ways and love a rubber toy with a bell in it.
McVan Sweeps Up in Yakima
Ch. McVan's Trip the Light Fantastic "Ginger" got back to back Group 1s at the Yakima Kennel club Shows on Saturday and Sunday. She is owned by Carol Greenwald and handled Travis Luijten. This was "Ginger's first Group 1s.
Under terrier expert Elliot Weiss, McVan's Power of Love "Brenda" ignored the 100 degree heat and pranced her way to two 3- point majors. She was BOWs on Saturday. Brenda is loved and owned by Annie Bringloe.
McVan's Blinded by the Light "Maxwell" was WD and BOS on Saturday for a major and BOWS, BOS on Sunday to garner 6 points. Maxwell is owned by Vandra Huber and Michael Krolewski.
All three winners were sired by our special dog Am. Can. BISS Ch. McVan's Light My Fire "Jimmy". Anna Nicole is the mother of Ginger and Maxwell (both wheatens) and Ch. McVan's Down Home Girl is the mother of Brenda.
Back to Back Best in Shows in USA and Canada
McVan's Be Bop Baby "Betsy" earned Best in Specialty Show at the Scottish Terrier Club of America's National Specialty under breeder-judge Dr. Gerald Penta. The next weekend Betsy went to Canada and won their national specialty too! The Canadian National Specialty was judged by Fred Ferris. Betsy also earned her Canadian championship in three shows, the minimum allowed. We are indeed honored to have Betsy who was handled by co-owner Rebecca Cross earn these back to back national titles.
We are unaware of any Scottish Terrier in history who has won BOB at Crufts, a world title and U.S. and Canadian titles.
Brenda Continues Winning Ways
McVan's Power of Love "Brenda" is well on her way to finishing her American championship. In the last two weekends she was shown, she went Winner's Bitch all three times shown. Shown by our friend Travis, Brenda is owned by Annie Bringloe. Her sire is BISS McVan's Light My Fire and dam is Ch. McVan's Down Home Girl.
Aurora Finishes at Specialty
McVan's Northern Lights "Aurora" went BOW to finish her American championship at the Northern California speciality under breeder judge James Reynolds. Aurora is taking a brief vacation and then will move on to earn her Canadian championship and light up the agility ring. Aurora is out of Jimmy and Anna Nicole.
Aurora is also CHIC certified by the Orthopedic Foundation of America. McVan Scotties currently has 10 CHIC health certified dogs in our breeding program with more earning certifications.
Zachery Goes BOWs at Specialty
At 9 months young, Lucia's Dream Summer Lightning "Zachery" went BOWs and BOS at the Northern California Terrier specialty to earn his first major. This was the first time that Zachery was shown. Zachery was bred by Betty Smit-Kamerbeek in the Netherland. Thank you Betty for sending us this stallion of a young dog. He has temperament, a front to die for, great layback and good bone. He will be out at specialities this summer.
Lacey Goes BOB From Classes
McVan's Lightning and Lace Strikes Ballyhoo garnered BOB honors from the classes at the Jackson Tennessee Dog Fanciers Association on May 17 for her first 4 point major. Owner-handled by Angie Solomito, Lacey bested two top Scottie specials to take the breed under terrier expert Bruce Schwartz. This teen-age Scottie lassie recently won the large 12-18 bitch class at the Scottish Terrier Club of America National Specialty. We are very proud of Lacey and Angie for their accomplishments.
In Washington state, Lacey's brother McVan's Light Of My Life "Webster" owned Ben Hosakul and Ken Kincaid got back to back BOWs and BOS at local shows. Webster needs a major to finish his championship.
Dante Earns AOM at Canadian National
Am. Can. Ch. McVan's Inferno garners an Award of Merit at the Canadian Scottish Terrier Specialty in Regina, Canada. Dante is owned and love by Cheryl Lange. Dante's son Ben Jr. was Winner's Dog at the Terrier Specialty the same weekend to finish his Canadian championship. Congratulations to Cheryl Lange and her mom for lovin our boy and showing him to advantage.

Our agility king Ch. McVan's Rocket Man RN, NA, NAP, OA, JE, NAJ, NJP OAJ owned by Joanne Young earned 2 legs in Rally Advanced A at the STCA's first national specialty rally competition in Dayton. Rocky is one of only two Scottish Terriers to have earned titles in conformation, agility, obedience and rally. He will be honored later this year by the STCA for his accomplishments

Ronni finishes her American Championship

She finished under breeder judge Kathy Ferris. Ronni is owned by Greg and Terry Brown who earlier had finished Ronni's Canadian championship and was handled by Amy Rutherford.

New Am. Brazilian Ch. McVan's Rainy Day Man earned best of opposite sex at the American Kennel Club's Eukanuba show on Sunday. He is out of Ch. McVan's Inferno and Ch. McVan's Run Around Sue.
He has had an impressive career in the U.S. going winner's dog twice Montgomery weekend and also two times at the shows preceding Eukanuba.
Bred by Vandra Huber, Devon is now owned by Jerson Valle and Victor Malzoni, Jr.
and lives in Brazil.
Am. Ch. McVan's E Equals MC-squared Thai Champion
BANGKOK, THAILAND -- Am. Ch. McVan's E Equals MC-squared "Einstein" became a Thai champion in three shows with 3 Best Junior in Show wins. made his debute in Thailand at the Pantip Pet Expo. Shown by breeder Vandra, Einstein got BOB and Reserve Best in Group at the first two shows. Einstein who is 17 months old, also earned two Best Junior in Show titles on Australian Judge David Strachan and Thai judge Peerapong Pisitwuttinan. The next day, Einstein was shown by "Johnny" Khanchit Singhamongkolkhet who has taken a rest from grooming the famous U.S. sealyham "Charmin" and was in Thailand to visit his family. At the third show, Einsten went Best in Group, beating the #1 terrier and #3 all breed dog in Thailand. To become a Thai champion a dog must earn 3 ccs and 60 points. Points are awarded for breed and group placements. Einstein is proudly own by Dr. Teerana Bhongmakapat. Einstein is out of Am. Can. Ch. McVan's Light My Fire and Am. Can. Ch. Beameup McVan's Gold Digger.

McVan's Rainmaker earned two Rally titles at the Yuma AKC dog show.
Rainie and Judy finished out their Rally run by earning a Rally Advance and Rally Excellent titles over the long weekend in Arizona.

McVan's Rainy Day Man "Devon" ( Ch. McVan's Infernal and Ch. McVan's Run Round Sue) was WD, BOS AND BOS at the Thursday Hatsboro Show under Judge Thom Parotti. On Friday Devon was also WD under Harry O'Donoghue. Devon is owned by Jerson Valle and Victor Malzoni.
McVan's Thrill of the Hunt at Chyscott (Ch. chyscott's First Knight and Ch. McVan's Fire Starter) was the division winner in STCA sweepstakes and won his class each day he was shown. he is owned by LaRae and Whitney shafter and Krissy Simmons.

Ch. McVan's Rocket Man NAP, NJP, NA, JE, RN, NAJ OAOAJ won the earth dog championship class at Montgomery. He is one of only two scotties to have qualified for the versatility award offered by the SFBSTC.
BIS Am. Can. Ch. McVan's Firestarter "Carrie" received an award of merit at Montgomery and 3rd in the brood bitch class. We are fortunate to own this beautiful Scottie.

He was reserve winner's dog under Sandra Goose Allen. On Sunday, Hunter got a five point major from the puppy class.
At home in Washington state, Hunter's mother Ch. McVan's Firestarter earned a Group 3.
Birth of five scottie lads from Ch. McVan's Legally Blonde (Elle) and Ch. Chyscott's First Knight
I am pleased to announce the birth of five scottie lads from Ch. McVan's Legally Blonde (Elle) and Ch. Chyscott's First Knight. The puppies were whelped by Margaret Kooda and family in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
The litter consisted of four wheatens and one brindle boy. While the first week is always critical, Margaret reports that so far, everyone is doing well.
Einstein Finishes His U.S. Championship & Jimmy Earns ROM
At less than a year of age, McVan’s E Equals McSquared finished his U.S. championship. Einstein is the first puppy out of a repeat breeding of Jimmy and Anna Nicole to finish his championship. Einstein who was WD at the Northern California Terrier Association shows is now in Thailand with his owner Teerana.
Einstein is the 10th champion sired by Am. Can. Ch. McVan’s Light My Fire which means that Jimmy is eligible for the STCA’s Registry of Merit award. Jimmy is already in the hall of fame for his specialty wins.
McVan Scotties Retires WSSTC’s Blackbriar BIS Challenge Trophy
Puyallup, WA – BIS Am. Can. Ch. McVan’s Fire Starter “Carrie” earns Best in Show honors at the Washington State Scottish Terrier Club Specialty. This is Carrie’s second specialty Best in Show in the past month. The judge was terrier expert Sharon Cook. Handled by Travis, Carrie also earned a Group 1 the next day at the Puyallup Kennel Club show.
In garnering this win, McVan Scotties retires the WSSTC’s Blackbriar Best in Show Challenge trophy. To retire the trophy, dogs owned by the same owners must win the breed three times. The trophy was named after the first WSSTC specialty winner, Blackbriar Brooke. Carrie’s father Am. Can. Ch. McVan’s Light My Fire “Jimmy” went BIS at the WSSTC in 2007 under Terrier expert Victor Grosso and 2005 under breeder judge Merle Taylor
Other McVan Scotties Do Well at Specialty
In the classes, McVan’s Power of Love won the 12-19 sweepstakes division. Owned by Annie Bringloe, Brenda was handled by Robbie Garvin. Thank you Robbie!
Second in the class was Warscot’s April Showers owned and bred by Nancy Warfield and Vandra. At 6 months young McVan’s Too Darn Hot of Trotters won her sweepstakes and 6-9 puppy bitch class with first time owner-handler Ken Kinloch. Táp tim (Ruby in Thai) is co-owned by Amphorn “Ben” Hosakul.
McVan’s Light’s Camera Action owned by Sally Johnson and her sister McVan’s Northern Lights both placed in the 9-12 puppy bitch class. Michael Krolewski also showed McVan’s Night and Day. The next day, Warscot’s Curious George of McVan owned by Nancy Warfield and Vandra Huber went BOWs and Best of Opposite Sex for a four point major. George also picked up two more BOW wins on the Idaho circuit the next week.
Washington Scottie Specialty
McVan Scotties almost makes a clean sweep at the WSSTC specialty. The day begin with mcVan's Light of my Life "webster" earning best in sweepstakes. Webster is owned by Ken Kinloch and Ben Hosakul. This is the second year the boys have taken top honors with a McVan scottie.
Webster also got RWD under judge Ray Bay.
Best of Winners went to Annie Bringloe's typey bitch New Champion McVan's Power of love "Brenda." The day was complete with Best in Specialty honors going to Ch. McVan's Trip the Light Fantastic which who is owned by Carol Greenwald. Our typey wheaten girl is clearning up in the Pacific Northwest and already has amassed numerous group ones.
BIS Am. Can. Ch. McVan's Firestarter Best of Breed
New Jersey -- BIS Am. Can Ch. McVan's Firestarter "Carrie"
went Best of Breed at the New York Scottish Terrier Club specialty under judge Mr. Robert Moore. Carrie earned top honors over a field of 60 Scottish Terriers.
She was handled by her friend and handler Travis Liujten. The day before, Carrie earned Best of Opposite Sex honors at the Scottish Terrier Club of America's National specialty. The judge was Mr. Edd Bivin.
We are thankful to the judges for recognizing Carrie's breed type, correct size, exquisite head and true movement.
Carrie's younger brothers and sisters also did well over the weekend..
McVan's E Equals McSquared "Einstein won his 9-12 puppy class at the National specialty and New York Specialty.
His sisters McVan's Northern Lights "Aurora" and McVan's Trip the Light Fantastic "Ginger" got second and third in the 9-12 puppy class.
Ginger got second in sweepstakes at New York. Vandra and Michael had great fun.
Ch. McVan's Jumpin' Jack Flash Takes names in Agility
Ohio --Ch. McVan's Jumpin' Jack Flash, a lovely wheaten boy earned four first place honors in agility this week. Jax was expertly handled by Michael Thomas, an up and coming young junior handler.
Michael's mentor Joanne Young also did well in the competition.
But the weekend went to Jax's and Michael. Way to go.
Carrie Gets All-Breed Best-In-Show (BIS) at Peninsula Dog Fanciers Show
Am. Can. Ch. McVan's Fire Starter "Carrie" garnered all breed Best in Show honors at Peninsula Dog Fanciers. The breed and Best in Show judge was George J. Heitzman. Terrier Group Judge was Edd Bivin. Carrie defeated 1,185 dogs. This is Carrie's first all breed Best in Show. She is the eighth homebred McVan Scottish Terrier to earn an all breed BIS.
Carrie was Best of Winner's at the 2007 Scottish Terrier Club of America rotating specialty and Best of Winner's at the 2007 Canadian Scottish Terrier Club rotating specialty. The year before, she won Best in Sweepstakes honors at the Canadian national specialty and took RWB to her mother. Carrie is out of Am. Can. Ch. McVan's Light My Fire X Am. Can. Ch. Beameups McVan's Gold Digger.
We are mighty proud of Carrie and the fire she has set in the show ring.
Anna Nicole has another litter
WOODINVILLE, WA--- On February 29, Anna Nicole (Ch. Beameup McVan's Gold
Digger) and Jimmy (Ch. McVan's Light My Fire) gave birth to five happy scottie puppies. This is their third litter. The first litter produced multiple specialty winners and BIS Am. Can. Ch. McVan's Light My Fire.
The litter includes three wheaton boys, a black boy and a black brindle girl. The puppies decided to get some spring sun and play in the flowers recently. So here are pictures of two of the explorers.
